ChoirFixer Limited was founded and incorporated on 21st December 2010 by James Davey, a London based professional Choral Director and entrepreneur.
In response to a growing demand for his services as a choral fixer (the person within a professional ensemble who picks the team - like a football manager deciding who goes onto the field), James decided to set up this Limited Company in order to manage the financial affairs of bookings, to formalise the process of contracting with both clients and freelance professional singers and, most importantly, to generate more work opportunities for professional choral musicians at the highest possible level. All professional artists go through periods when there is little or no work to go around, and being a successful member of a regular professional choir can mean that it is difficult to find work between tours. Many highly skilled musicians find their talents being wasted on temporary work in other industries, so ChoirFixer Limited seeks to support these musicians by providing short-term opportunities in their own field. ChoirFixer has the contacts and expertise to put together world class ad hoc musical ensembles, and enlists choral musicians from top UK professional choirs to create a pool of exceptionally talented Singers, Arrangers, Composers, Organists, Accompanists and Musical Directors. ChoirFixer now acts as a supplier to entertainment and music agencies, offering a finished choral product at an affordable price that is in line with the Musicians Union recommended rates. By keeping prices affordable, this high caliber of choral performance is accessible to a wider audience than ever before, extending the reach of choral music and its ability to positively affect the lives of those who experience and enjoy it.
